Summary: 6th-grader and self-proclaimed genius Nate Wright faces his all-time enemy, Gina, when they are paired to piece of work on a research newspaper together and she also gets a position on his intramural team.Fun, quick read that integrates traditional text and comics within the book. Kind of a mix of a graphic novel and a regular volume. I liked the first book so I wanted to read the next i in the serial. I think kids would really similar it, especially boys. Nate is confident nearly his comics and his ability to helm his fleeceball team in the big schoolhouse tournament. Not agape to say what is on his mind, Nate is oft in trouble with the teachers, the principal, and the school slap-up. Things are going well until he is assigned to piece of work on a Ben Franklin Projection with the person he hates most in this world, Gina (the teacher's pet) AND she is picked to be on his fleeceball squad.
Funny parts I enjoyed: Nate creates some funny and original comic strips about what he learns about Ben Franklin. Nate selects the perfect name for his fleeceball team, Psycho Dogs, but when he doesn't tell the coach in time, Gina names the squad the Kuddle Kittens.

I received an Advance Reader's Re-create of Big Nate Strikes Over again past Lincoln Pierce. I did not receive any compensation for reviewing this book.Kids who love Greg Hefley from Diary of a Wimpy Child are going to dearest Nate Wright. Parents will probably like Nate meliorate.
Based on the comic strip "Big Nate" this series details the trials and tribulations of 6th grader Nate Wright. Nate finally has a chance to win the coveted SPOFFY Trophy (Sports Played Only For Fun). He's been selected as a team captain for fleeceball – an indoor version of baseball. But nil ever goes smoothly. Kept later school by a instructor, Nate is unable to make it to the meeting to option his team. He lucks out and his best friends Teddy and Francis are on the squad, only so is his archenemy – A+ know it all Gina! Not but does he accept to put up with Gina on his fleeceball team, he's paired with her on a social studies project. Can things go any worse or more hilarious?
The humour in this book is definitively age appropriate. Equally an elementary librarian I spend a good deal of time around young children. The sense of humour is right on target, but it's not and then obnoxious (as some kid like humour – Captain Underpants for example – can be) that adults volition not savor it equally well. I honey Jeff Kinney and his Diary of a Wimpy Kid series. Just lets be honest, I call up I like Nate better. (Don't worry I'll still anxiously await any new Wimpy Kid books.) Nate is one of those likeable characters. Always up to something, merely so charming you tin't assist but like him. If you work in a school, you know what I'thousand talking almost.
As I mentioned in the starting time, I received an Avant-garde Readers' Copy of this book. I liked it so much that not simply am I going to recommend it to my students, I've already ordered a hard cover copy of this and the first book in the series for my library at home.
Recommended for tertiary grade and up. (The AR reading level is iii.0 and fifty-fifty though Nate is a 6th grader, based on my experience I'one thousand pretty sure third grade and older volition savor this book.)

Mom's Review: Honestly didn't even need to bother reading this since Jake told me the whole story when he was writing upwardly his review. Must remind him well-nigh spoilers. Simply I read information technology anyway and I agree pretty much with Jake's opinion on this ane. It isn't as skillful as the first book, only still definitely worth the cost. Nate is a fun character and I really like the friendship betwixt him and his two buddies. It is very realistic the mode they diss each other. Trust me, I have watched Jake with his buddies Brian and Matthew and they love the dissing. Like the Diary of a Wimpy Child books, this is an crawly serial for reluctant readers. There is a skilful mix between illustrations and writing to keep even the most reluctant reader interested. I really recommend these be office of all schoolhouse and public libraries. Hopefully they will go the same attention as the Wimpy Kid books. BTW, there is a Librarian in this and really could you lot non accept made her a little less stereotypical -- I know picky, picky.

We received this from the HarperCollins booth at the OLA and wasn't required to review it, nosotros just actually liked them

In my stance, this book exceeds its predecessor on most levels. When at its best, the humor is fully on par with that of Jeff Kinney'southward Diary of a Wimpy Kid series, and the storyline shows improved depth and creativity when compared to Lincoln Pierce's first novel-in-cartoons about Large Nate.Nate Wright faces two big upcoming events at the aforementioned time as the volume gets under mode. The first is the handing out of a major project in the social studies class of the intimidating Mrs. Godfrey, Nate'southward least-favorite teacher. The project calls for two-person collaboration, and Nate is randomly matched for the assignment with his archenemy Gina, whose more often than not obsequious attitude toward scholastic accomplishment and teacher relations gets on Nate's nerves to an extent matched by few other students. Now he has to notice a way to work peaceably with Gina in coming up with a quality social studies projection, or he'll be in danger of failing the form.
The second big upcoming result as the volume begins is the commencement of intramural sports season. Nate has been selected as captain of the Fleeceball (information technology'due south an indoor version of baseball game) team, and he's eagerly gunning to win the coveted SPOFFY trophy for the start time. His luck with intramural sports hasn't e'er been smashing in the by, only this year he's entered in a sport at which he really excels, and he knows that his best opportunity to cop the award has finally arrived. There are but 3 problems: Nate'southward athletic nemesis, Randy Betancourt, has been named captain of the squad that poses the nigh serious threat to Nate'south title, Gina (!) has been assigned as a histrion on Nate's side, and a mixup with the deadline for choosing team names has led to Nate's team being named the "Kuddle Kittens"...which was, of course, Gina'due south thought.
The social studies project that Nate and Gina are collaborating on is to be a report about the life of Benjamin Franklin. Ordinarily, Gina is a consistent A+ student and Nate barely gets passing grades considering he doesn't intendance equally much virtually excelling in academics, but when Nate begins to read about Benjamin Franklin, he finds something of a kindred spirit in the American founding father. History takes on a deeper sense of real life, and Nate begins to call back that maybe the projection won't exist a drag later on all.
The Fleeceball league championship and finished social studies project come together in unexpected means, creating some surprising heroes as the stories reach their common conclusions. I remember that Nate has really learned something by the stop of this volume, and what he learns isn't at all obvious or heavy-handed. Lincoln Pierce is a good author, and Big Nate Strikes Again is a fine example of his overall creative ability.
To a higher place all else, this book is ingeniously comical. I laughed as hard as I had while reading the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books, and I can't say that very often. Big Nate Strikes Again was a great deal of fun to read, and if Lincoln Pierce tin can keep upwards this level of sense of humour in futurity books, so I can't await to get my hands on them and run into what more Nate has in store for us. I would recommend Big Nate Strikes Again for anyone who enjoys the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series and appreciates their distinctive brand of sense of humor, or for anyone who, every bit in my case, absolutely loves the Big Nate comic strip and tin't get enough of Nate Wright'southward adventures.

This book was very enjoyable even though it had its downsides I had a great time reading it. I gave this book three stars considering it was funny merely information technology wasn't the well-nigh interesting book. I recommend this volume for people who like one-act and humor.

Reading Fourth dimension: Took me about an 60 minutes.
In this volume so far, it has been very funny and relatable. This book is funny because of how he compares things, and how he describes people. He is relatable because because he loves to play sports and hates homework. I predict that he volition win the Championship with his team against Randy Betancourt, and his project volition Gina will go good. I don't call back that him and Gina are going to stop arguing and hating each other. SPOILER Warning

I gave this book 3 stars considering I thought information technology was another great Big Nate volume. Nate must face up the harsh news of Gina, Nate'due south rival and the class pet, joining his school "fleeceball" squad, which is pretty much similar baseball only the rules are a flake different. This was a good one, but every bit skillful as the first. Funny storyline, skilful characters- the get-go book made me read the 2nd. I thought this was corking, and this is a good volume for all ages.

Problems why it cant be called that:-
1)He is e'er tardily cause he gets in trouble
ii)Gina is in his team
Just because of these two problems
It is called the "The Kuddle Kittens" aka the worst fleece ball name.....
The book is and so hilarious way ameliorate than the Wimpy kid series for sure
Nates got the worst luck
1)Teddy and Francis are in a team
2)Jenny and Aurthur are in a team
